Multi-Level Residential Complex

A Multi-Level Residential Complex, home to more than 200 residents, suffered extensive fire damage in May 2018. Cancade Restoration (a Priority Restoration company) and Priority Restoration were immediately called to perform emergency services to remediate and stabilize the property.

Priority Restoration first established safety and security controls to preserve the integrity of the site for investigators and insurers. We then employed structural drying techniques to minimize mould growth and used specialized cleaning and smoke sealing practices to eliminate residual odours. Secondary damages were minimized, preserving key structural components of the building.

Priority worked with multiple insurers and adjusters to facilitate the listing of contents to expedite the insurance settlement process without causing undue delays.

Representatives from our ownership group and management team personally attended the site to offer help and support to families who were coping with a tremendous loss. Priority also accepted personal requests to locate some missing heirlooms and even reunited a pet turtle with its owner.

Priority Restoration worked closely with the major stakeholders involved to ensure the emergency response work was scheduled immediately and executed in a timely manner. We completed the mitigation work and turned the building over to the insurer within 52 days from the date of loss, with a combination of Priority Restoration and Cancade Restoration staff.
